Strategic and Local Plans

The Westchester-Putnam Workforce Development Board’s Four-Year Local Plan provides a local assessment of economic and workforce needs, collaborative efforts, partnerships with education and training; critical emerging industries, alignment with the Mid-Hudson Regional Economic Development Plan, and negotiated goals for adult and youth performance. In accordance with WIOA §679.580 (b), the local plan reflects changes in labor market and economic conditions, and other factors affecting the implementation of employment programs (including changes in economic conditions, financing available to support WIOA services, changes to the local workforce board structure, and the need to revise strategies to meet local performance goals).

Our plan sets the foundation for WIOA principles by fostering strategic alignment, improving service integration and ensuring that the public workforce system is industry-relevant, responding to the economic needs of the local area and matching employers with skilled workers. The WPWDB is required to provide a public comment period to solicit input from the community. All comments must be sent by e-mail to WPWDB DSS Contracts.
