New Career Opportunities

Jobs Waiting includes a team of highly experienced job developers, career coaches, and trainers from a nationally renowned career development organization who work together to help candidates identify new career opportunities and prepare them to return to work. Candidates are screened and selected to participate in career readiness training, and may apply for additional subsidized training for high-demand positions, including registered nurses, website developers, lab technicians, healthcare clinician assistants, ultrasound technologists, HVAC technicians, microbiologists, database administrators, network administrators, mechanical engineer technicians, MRI technicians, certified medical billers and coding clerks, and other areas identified by employers in the region.

Exclusive Boot Camp

Jobs Waiting participants attend a free, six-week career readiness training program, which provides specialized training and support services to prepare candidates for work. The boot camps offer one-on-one career counseling, professional skills assessment, career readiness workshops, financial planning, social media training, professional mentoring, business communication development, and opportunities to network with employers in the region.

Tuition Assistance

Jobs Waiting graduates may choose to pursue specialized career paths that require advanced training. Tuition subsidies are provided by a federal grant through the Jobs Waiting program that may be applied for approved training providers, including local educational institutions.

Personal Career Coach

Job seekers are assigned to a career coach who provides one-on-one counseling prior to and throughout the boot camp training, to help participants discover how existing skills may be applied to a new career in healthcare. After the training is completed, coaches keep in touch with participants, provide assistance in the job search process, and share targeted professional opportunities as they arise.

Job Referral And Placement

Experienced job developers help to position and promote boot camp graduates as job candidates to major employers throughout the Hudson Valley. They also maintain a database of open positions for which Jobs Waiting candidates may apply, and provide ongoing support and counseling to candidates during the boot camp sessions and at joint meetings with career coaches at seven participating Hudson Valley One Stop Employment Centers.

Workforce Training Incentives

Employers who register as members of the Jobs Waiting program may apply for funding to help hire and train program graduates, saving time and money in the recruitment process.
